Weber Shandwick Chicago is looking for an experienced Director, Project Management for one of our large integrated accounts. The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects across multiple brands or workstreams. The Director, Project Management has the ability to plan, understand, articulate and defend Scope of Work and can identify and problem solve scope creep to maintain the health of a project and account.

The Director, Project Management will set expectations from the beginning of the project, and find solutions to any issues that may arise without compromising quality, team morale, or budget. Because the Director, Project Management coordinates with creative, strategy and other internal teams, the ideal candidate is a proactive and operationally strategic partner who will drive best-in-class solutions for our clients.


  • Organize and operate digital, social, PR and IRM projects
  • Define roles and responsibilities among team members, developing complex RACI charts for large teams, multiple agencies, and vendors if needed. Also able orchestrate re-set and re-org of a team (if needed).
  • Supports operational excellence, builds best practices and processes to deliver new solutions
  • See 3 steps ahead, anticipate or shift process to refine overall account operations with a focus on balancing quality, cost and schedule

Required Qualifications

  • Have 7+ years project management experience within a creative agency environment
  • Strong experience with scoping, pricing and schedule development for complex programs with multiple work streams
  • Strong financial and resource management experience

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • PM experience with a marketing, public relations, consulting or advertising agency setting
  • Proficient in Project Management tools such as Smartsheets and Microsoft Products
