We’re looking for a seasoned veteran with deep knowledge of the nuances of risk-based institutional contracting – someone who knows how to get deals done the right way.  This teammate will be accountable for our national institutional partnerships, inclusive of the full contracting cycle and ongoing account management – renewing and papering deals, charge master adjustments, regulatory amendments, settlements, contractual dispute resolution, and more.

Highlights include:

  • Contracting portfolio in excess of $1B in yearly spend
  • 50+ hospital relationships to maintain
  • Major focus on new & innovative contracting methods (moving beyond basic per diems and DRGs)

  • The ability to dramatically impact Operating Income from Day 1

The Director will be part of the national contracting team, playing a pivotal role in the overall direction of the business.  This position reports to the VP, National Network Strategy & Contracting, with significant opportunity for impact and advancement within the network team, DMG and the broader DaVita Village

Broader responsibilities include:

  • Contract execution and amendment
  • Account / relationship management
  • Negotiation
  • Settlements and dispute resolution
  • Contract BDP design
  • Contracting process improvement
  • Liaison to operating teams
  • Thought partner to the Executive Leadership Team

The Director will join a team of highly motivated individuals with previous leadership experience across an array of healthcare verticals, consulting and banking.   

Qualifications

  • Must haveexperiences & capabilities:
    • 5+ years of health-plan, provider or hospital contracting experience (or equivalent)
    • Riskexperience (Medicare Advantage, Commercial HMO, Managed Medicaid)
    • Extreme detail orientation
    • Strong prioritization skills and ability to juggle many projects simultaneously
    • Robust analytical, communication, and relationship skills
    • Customer service mindset to internal stakeholders
    • Strategic mind – drive to create solutions
    • Ability to work in a very fast-paced, team-oriented environment
    • Desire to have fun and make a difference
  • Preferred:
    • MBA or JD.  Prefer candidates from top-ranked institutions
    • Built / designed contracting processes & procedures
    • C-level negotiation experience
    • Executive presence and communication style
    • Experience in the Southern California, Nevada or Washington market with existing relationships
