Driven by a competitive marketplace today, businesses offer complex product portfolios (hardware, software, services, acquired products, etc.) and critical business capabilities are required to deliver these products & services to the marketplace. This role is responsible for developing a blueprint for the way forward across the respective industries to provide a capability centric view across the company’s products and portfolios. In collaboration with the Industry strategy & marketing, Portfolio marketing, and product leadership, this leader will build a team to assess, determine and architect an industry-led solution and capability strategy (ie. Discrete, Process or Hybrid); and has the breadth and depth of skills and experience to be a technologist, strategist and portfolio leader.
The Industry Architecture leader works with key stakeholders to lead the conceptualization, design and development of industry-centered solutions and capabilities. To differentiate from Business Leads, Platform Leads or Product Managers, Industry Solution Architect Leaders create solution and capability roadmaps across industries, and product managers create product roadmaps. Industry architecture provides a wider view of the enterprise beyond product management and works to positively complement product management.
What you will do
- Responsible for the strategic direction and oversight of overall offerings across the industry.
- Leads and rallies cross-functional teams around a common strategic goal of building strong alignment between customers’ most critical, lucrative challenges and Rockwell Automation’s products, services and technologies.
- Responsible for turning a well-researched set of customer requirements into a full-fledged solution architecture that delivers a winning and differentiated solution to the market
- Identifies, architects, develops, and evangelizes cross-industry and cross-product solutions and capability roadmaps in collaboration with the industry marketing, portfolio marketing, product management, advanced technology, and engineering teams.
- Packages and communicates the technical aspects, risks, challenges and selling points of the proposed solution
- Coordinates within and across businesses to maximize the investments in the portfolio to grow and maintain install base and yield maximum revenue.
- Monitors trends and evolving expectations within target automation markets and their impact on Rockwell Automation strategy and priorities
- Routinely represents the business in critical meetings with customers, sales, and management teams
- Represents Rockwell Automation with industry consortia and standards organizations
- Understands the technology platforms in question, both from an internal-RA perspective and an industry-wide perspective.
- In addition to delivering a holistic strategy across all products and services, impacting product and services development roadmaps are crucial to the success of this role

- Bachelor Degree

Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of related experience
- Industry-led and customer-centered strategic solution mindset
- Experience in Information technology, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering
- Experience developing cloud-based ecosystems to deliver value to end-customer
- Experience converting on premise software applications to SaaS offerings
- Experience in one or more of the following industries: Automotive, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, Chemical, Mining, Oil & Gas, or Packaging is preferred
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing capabilities, efficient in the use of software tools, and an ability to work with a geographically dispersed team to achieve position objectives
