Job Description

The Director of Human Resourcesmanages human resource functions, including compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, training and supervision.  Develops and implements personnel policy and procedures.  Supervises and directs the work of Human Resources employees.:

Performs position specific job functions at an acceptable level.  Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines and protocols within appropriate time frames.  Plans, organizes, staffs, directs and evaluates departmental activities to meet goals.  Manages departmental fiscal operations including budget development and authorization of expenditures.  Monitors trends, legislation and regulations that are relevant to the admissions and the mission of the facility and department.  Hires, trains and supervises department staff.  Provides orientation and ongoing on-the-job training to staff.   Assures staffing is sufficient to maintain quality of service delivery and meet facility standards and regulatory requirements.  Documentation reflects professional standards.  Checks performance and documentation of human resources staff to assure standards are met.  Maintains personnel records, personnel confidential/medical files, I9 records, and documentation of training.  Assures thorough and timely staff development processes including assessment of competency, performance feedback.  Performs a variety of duties as a human resources staff. Consults with managers and supervisors to initiate recruitment activities, FTE management, performance feedback, corrective action, and termination processes.  Performs special studies and projects as requested.  Performs internal investigations, including response to Employee Grievances and Corporate Compliance Line calls.  Assures readiness for inspections and audits performed by regulatory agencies involved in oversight of organizational functions.  Performs other duties as assigned.



Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

  • Must be proficient with computer, Microsoft Office and HRIS software.Ability to learnother software programs quickly.

  • Excellent communication skills. Professional verbal and written skills. Able to verbally adapt spoken communication to meet needs of internal and external customers.

  • Maintains professional therapeutic relationships with internal and external customers. Able to maintain employee and patient confidentiality.

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks underdeadlines and with short notice.
  • Knowledge of FMLA, EEOC, DOL, Workmen’s Compensation, Employee Benefits, Unemployment Compensation and other employee litigation.
  • Knowledge of recruitment processes, direct marketing, ad placement, etc. for professional and non-exempt staff.
  • Ability to compose Job Descriptions, Competencies and Performance Evaluations.  Ability to compose facility policy and procedures.



Prefer Master’s degree in Human Resources, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university or related experience.



Prefer five years work experience in Human Resources.
