Job Description

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 5 to 7 years prior work experience in an HR department within an acute care hospital to include minimum 3 years management experience, required.
  • Prior experience with acute care hospital and laboratory Joint Commission accreditation surveys.
  • The Human Resource Director position reports to the hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
  • Plans, directs and carries out policies related to all phases of personnel activity and functional operations
  • Leads employee reward and recognition programs.
  • Develops recruitment plans and may assist with recruitment, interviews, and/or assists in selection of employees to fill vacant positions.
  • Plans and may conduct new employee orientation programs to foster positive attitudes toward company goals.
  • Maintains records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations; includes employee HR paper file and electronic files.
  • Manages worker's compensation program and works closely with Employee Health RN and insurance carrier.
  • Conducts wage surveys within relevant labor markets to determine competitive wage rates.
  • Prepares the budget for personnel operations.
  • May be responsible for suggesting new compensation structures or changes to existing plans.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals in support of the strategic plan of the hospital.
  • Human resource certification preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP)
