Director, Global Sourcing and Procurement

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Global Sourcing and Procurement will report to the COO as a key member of his Works
leadership team. The role will work closely, on a daily basis, with the leaders of the accounting,
manufacturing and engineering teams. The role is responsible for the development and execution of the
global sourcing and procurement strategies and processes, including supplier certification, to ensure
that the team provides materials sourced with suppliers that meet performance standards at
competitive prices, allowing for maximization of profits.
The ideal Director of Global Sourcing will have a bias towards action. The need is for you to assure our process rigor and integrity and do so when ambiguity exists with our material requirements definition.
Candidates will need to have experience in both the physical and digital realms, our products are complex systems that mix both to create connected solutions. Our strategy will require you to have sound experience working with 3rd party engineering and/or manufacturing partners. This redefines our sourcing and material planning process, supporting product design and development, assuring the integration of the product development and procurement processes of both Apex and the partner.
The Director of Global Sourcing will have superior teaching and coaching skills. You know that the most important part of your job is setting the team up for success. Through mentoring, teaching, and reviewing, you help your make sound sourcing decisions rapidly, improve their deliverable quality, and get out of their comfort zone. Provide the needed business-leader level perspective to identify and understand the down-stream business and/or process impact of decisions and changes initiated within the engineering team.
? Manage multiple projects concurrently to ensure all projects are on time and on budget.
? Develop metrics and process rigor to track and drive departmental productivity and efficiency.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
? 15+ years of experience in purchasing / supply chain management in manufacturing and electronic related industries
? A minimum of 10 years of experience in leading teams with increasing levels of responsibility, specifically supply chain
? Must have previous training in Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
? CSCP, CPIM, and/or CPM certification
? Experience in international coordination of sourcing and materials management
? Experience working in Lean Manufacturing environments
? Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
? Skilled at using sound strategic business judgements as it relates to supply management philosophies and initiatives.
? Detailed knowledge of generally accepted purchasing practices, contract negotiation, and related laws and regulations
? Experience in tactical planning skills and forecasting systems
? Demonstrated knowledge of ERP systems and the inter relationship and interdependence of business processes.
? Proven leadership skills to also lead cross functional teams in a matrixed environment
? Outstanding presentation skills, strong competence in preparing and presenting business direction, strategies, products, services, and capabilities, including make-vs-buy analysis in support of strategic opportunities.
? Experienced in developing, negotiating and managing complex 3rd party and/or contract manufacturing relationships
? Demonstrate ability to take a value added ?seat at the executive table?
? Develop and maintain effective communications with all levels of internal and external customers
? Demonstrate ability to make decision that flex between consideration of the primary goal and mission of the purchasing team and the overall business requirements.
? Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires excellent prioritization, interpersonal, and planning skills where meeting deadlines is essential
? Utilize strong analytical skills to support sound decision-making logic with practical thinking when evaluating solutions and meeting management philosophies and initiatives
? Promote a strong liaison with appropriate personnel, internally and externally, fostering good working relationships with suppliers
? Excellent coach and leader creating goals, assigning accountability, and assisting in the execution plans necessary for success
? Maintain confidentiality with sensitive company information
? Strong organizational, interpersonal and negotiation skills for effective interaction with suppliers, customers, co-workers, supply chain, project management engineering and manufacturing departments
