It is the responsibility of the Global Sales Director to secure sports related Group bookings for all MGM Resorts International properties consisting of (15) rooms or more on peak night. Rooms and Catering revenue will be the primary measurement. Account base to be determined by Senior Vice President and VP of Global Sports & Event Sales. This position would focus on the following sub-verticals under the sports umbrella:

  • Extreme sports (non “stick & ball”)
  • Youth & amateur (non-Olympic, non-collegiate)
  • Sports Retail
  • Car Clubs and similar outdoor sports related festivals

This position is the primary point of contact to attend sports related conferences such as TEAMS, Connect Sports, NASC Annual Sports Event Symposium, SPORTS, AAU and U.S. Sports Congress. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures


  • Solicits group bookings and generates leads which fall within established territory/account base
  • Provides sales, services and coordination of group events on behalf of MGM Resorts International within respective territory/account base
  • Hosts prospective clients visiting to the properties including customer entertainment such as dining in hotel restaurants and accompanying clients to shows
  • Creates awareness and actively sells MGM Resorts International through attendance at trade shows and other industry functions
  • Develops suggestions to maximize revenue streams at MGM Resorts International properties
  • Provides ongoing evaluation and account analysis
  • Maintains close contact with client account base ensuring customer retention
  • Required to meet or exceed established quotas
  • Cooperates with others in matters of mutual concern
  • Conducts and escorts site inspections and FAM trips
  • Interacts with all departments of properties to ensure strong communication
  • Active participation in industry associations where appropriate
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested


  • At least seven (7) years of hotel sales experience, sports commission/CVB sales experience, or related
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or equivalent education and experience


Previous experience working in a similar resort, sports commission or CVB setting
