JOB SUMMARY:

As a direct report to the Vice President of Genomics Research and Clinical Management, functions as both a collaborative and independent administrator, strategic planner, project manager. Designs, implements, maintains, and monitors institute-wide research and project priorities, initiatives, activities and policies and procedures that optimize day-to-day operations, promotes research, and builds a positive culture to support research across the institute. Exercises director level judgment. Seeks new extramural funding sources and communicates with external funding agencies. Oversees the regulatory aspects of research and ensures with ongoing compliance. As a skilled technical writer, facilitates and mentors team members with scientific presentations and articles. Assists with harmonizing data sets. Assumes responsibility for decisions, results and consequences. Engages in decision making which had a positive impact on people, cost, risk and quality of services. Develops and fosters optimal communication and collaboration between leadership, staff, faculty and collaborators. Serves as a mentor; monitors and ensures that team members are meeting established priorities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree

7 years of experience

5 years of Project Management Experience

California RN License

Research Administration Certification

Clinical Research Coordination Certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

10+ Years of Experience

PMI Certification

Membership in regional or national research administration professional organization
