Designs, implements, directs and manages general accounting functions. Develops implements and maintains systems, procedures and policies. Handles highly complex accounting issues and fills accounting leadership role on significant transactions and new business activities. Supports mergers, acquisitions and investment activities. Performs accounting research and new contract review. Leads integration of transition requirements for acquisitions. Supports joint venture accounting and other general accounting activities. Manages several accounting functions through management of professional staff.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting required, Masters preferred
Experience: Minimum 12 years; prior management experience required; Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles; Strong research and documentation skills; Strong knowledge of control environments; Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills; Strong project management and staff management skills; Ability to interface with all levels of personnel; CPA with public accounting experience preferred; Industry experience in public environment preferred. Knowledge of the SaaS and technology industry and order to cash processes and systems preferred. Experience integrating accounting functions also desired.
Position responsible for directing the activities of multiple accounting functions within the Sabre accounting group including, for example, segment accounting, accounting for capitalization of technology costs, monthly close processes, balance sheet, revenue recognition, billing activities, collections and integration activities for newly acquired businesses. Responsible for SOX Process ownership and implementing improvements in existing control environment. Responsibilities will include ensuring accuracy of balance sheets and reconciliations for assigned areas, ensuring compliance with GAAP and control framework. Responsible for coordinating with Finance team and the business to ensure new activities are accounted for properly and proper controls established.
