The Challenge ahead:

The Fraud & Player Security team is responsible for protecting hundreds of millions of customer accounts from takeover and for managing payment fraud across dozens of payment types worldwide. The services this team builds and operates include rules-based and machine learning models that are integrated into player-facing experiences for login, payment, and in-game goods trading.

We are looking for a stellar candidate to lead the team and EA's efforts protecting our global player base from attacks and fraudulent activity. In this role, you will lead a global team of experts in anti-fraud, abuse, and consumer identity, and will report directly to EA's Chief Information Security Officer. Working closely with EA's Commerce & Identity team, you are responsible for designing strategies and implementing systems to block automated account creation, password guessing, and social engineering attacks against our customers and for improving payment fraud detection, regardless of payment type.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deploy account protection to protect EA's hundreds of millions of players from attacks on their accounts.
  • Engage in broader EA efforts related to Account Security.
  • Develop and deploy counter-fraud strategies that address monetary risk in alignment with business models and corporate strategies.
  • Partner with product and central services teams to improve payment options, games/game storefronts, business models and operating processes that minimize potential for fraud & abuse.
  • Work with external partners and vendors, payment gateways and acquirers on fraud operations and products.
  • Participate in global industry forums such as Merchant Risk Council and Gamer Safety Alliance.
  • Present analysis and reporting recommendations on a variety of KPI and business impact metrics.

Requirements:

  • Experience creating or operating large-scale fraud prevention programs and/or account protections.
  • Understanding of fraud risks associated with digital goods, experience building effective strategies to mitigate those risks.
  • Significant experience in e-commerce, digital or business operations, product or program management.
  • Exposure to payment processing in card-not-present environment, working with global and local payment processing.
  • Understanding of Data Protection, PCI DSS, and credit card industry regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and lead teams to achieve business objectives.
  • The ability to extrapolate key insights from data and use them to formulate strategy.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong ability to multi-task.
  • Experience in games, e-commerce or technology industries.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with fraud solutions like Accertify, ReD, ThreatMetrix, Cardinal Commerce, Neustar.
  • Experience with payment platform solutions like Chase Paymentech, Ingenico, Adyen, Yandex.
  • Experience leveraging machine learning techniques to analyze customer behavior and fraud patterns.
