Summary of Position
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis on the Business Strategy & Planning team will play a critical role in how the Content and Marketing verticals of the Motion Picture Group (MPG) analyze data, develop new strategies and grow LIONSGATE’S business in a quickly evolving media landscape.
This role will work alongside the newly re-organized teams within the Strategy & Innovation vertical as well as across verticals with the Content and Global Marketing teams. This is a highly visible, cross-functional role with touch points across the company and a front row seat to the development and creation of new business strategies.
As the Motion Picture business evolves, this is an extremely exciting opportunity to create value and develop new ways of doing business inside the industry’s largest independent motion picture studio.
Your work will be reviewed by the heads of business units and help drive change across the organization. This role has high visibility with senior management and will be expected to lead meetings and present analyses.
We are looking for someone who can develop and tell a story with financial data. This is an ideal role for someone who wants to disrupt the status quo and find new ways to grow our business and deliver content to global audiences.
Responsibilities
Content
Provide financial modeling related to strategic projects across the company and consolidated FP&A reporting focused on content
Develop and manage the business plan(s) of the MPG and individual sub-segments (Wide Release, UK, Platform Theatricals, new business, etc.)
Create high level reports for the Chairman and COO of the MPG to identify opportunities and business efficiencies
Co-lead the quarterly reset of financial forecasting and reporting
Analyze actualized data and reforecast models
Work closely with FP&A leadership on cross company initiatives
Marketing
Create Marketing budget estimates for upcoming film releases (US P&A, Canada, UK, Home Ent)
Lead Marketing Finance strategy and analytics and present findings to head of Global Marketing
Allocate marketing budget and build out with Marketing team
Track Marketing budgets from forecast to actuals
Develop KPIs to track and measure to ensure business success
Qualifications & Skills
5-8 years of experience relevant experience (entertainment industry experience a plus)
Must have outstanding Excel modeling skills and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
Experience using SAP Business Planning and Consolidation or other business planning and forecasting tools
Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple deliverables and manage toward evolving deadlines
Must possess strong leadership qualities to motivate and persuade others to accomplish organizational objectives in a unified and fluent manner.
Strong work ethic, high sense of urgency, and excellent time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The successful candidate will have the aptitude to tackle multiple projects, problem solve, and efficiently execute deliverables and be expected to interact with and present to senior executives at all levels within the Motion Picture Group
An interest in movies and entertainment is a plus
