SUMMARY

The Finance Director of Americas provides financial leadership and oversight and supports effective and timely business decision making for the region and the leaders of that business. The role leads the Americas financial quarterly forecasts and annual budgeting plan variance analysis. This person will also provide financial and strategic support including, but not limitedto, performance reporting, comprehensive metrics, long-term plans, cash flow management and profitability assurance/analysis. This analysis and reporting will be utilized by senior management, the Board of Directors and other stakeholders, as needed.

The position reports directly to the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis but will partner with the EVP and General Manager of the Americas to provide financial guidance. This position will also supervise a FP&A Manager and two Financial analysts.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare interim, monthly and quarterly comparative financial reporting packages and analysis of all aspects of the P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. Work with the Accounting group to validate and understand items impacting these areas.

Lead annual budget, quarterly forecast, and weekly profit assurance processes.

Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances to plan and/or forecast. Routinely communicate financial and operational performance trends (historical and forecasted) using appropriate metrics, andwork with leadership on countermeasures.

Partner with the EVP and General Manager of the Americas and the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis on financial matters that focus on maximizing the revenue growth, profitability and cash flow generation of the business. Suggest trends, key actions and strategic implications.

Create and review business cases, bids and proposals for new and existing business.

Work with the SIOP and Sales team to validate inventory forecasts and improve buying patterns.

Provides leadership in the creation, implementation and communication of financial information to functional owners to ensure easy access to information, including the use of systems technologies.

Develop and/or enhance policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the Americas Financial Organization.

Provides continuous coaching, mentoring, and development to staff.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, with emphasis in Finance or Accounting. CPA and/or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Finance or Accounting in a mid-to-large corporation, working with financial statements and planning. Minimum of 4 years in a senior finance role. Minimum of 2 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Prior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) experience is a plus.
  • Aerospace industry knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and required internal control environment for a publicly-traded company.
  • A proven track record of leadership and successful collaboration.
  • Advanced analytical, financial reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong accounting/finance knowledge including consolidation of financials
  • Strong communication skills; capable of presenting complex financial information in an easy-to-understand format.
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated.
  • Must be detail orientated with the ability to meet "hard" deadlines, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Expert knowledge and use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, Outlook).
  • Other systems knowledge: JD Edwards, OneStream, Hyperion or other consolidation and planning tools are a plus
