    Position Summary

    The Director, Finance & Pricing is responsible for providing financial and revenue management leadership to the Business Unit Team resulting in analyses and recommendations that maximize the Business Unit’s profitability. This position will provide corporate periodic updates on Business Unit performance including key performance indicator analysis, pricing analysis, cost / benefit analysis, etc. This individual will also play a leadership role in counseling the Business Unit (BU) VP and management team on the pricing, promotion and brand (mix) strategies and tactics necessary to maximize profitability while maintaining a strong control environment. The Director, Finance & Pricing will also operate in a matrix environment consisting of Sales and Revenue Management.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide Business Unit Vice President, General Managers (GM's), Market Development Managers (MDM's) and Corporate Finance an insightful, actionable, monthly analysis of the financial results and full year forecast
    • Lead the development of the monthly financial forecast as it relates to volume, FOB pricing, drives, BUOM supplied forecasted, CTFs and Corporate supplied sell expense; review forecast with the BU management team noting areas of risk or opportunity along with recommendations to ensure that profitability is maximized
    • Provide financial and revenue management analysis, guidance and support to the BU VP, GM's and MDM's; focus should be on the key drivers of the P & L including volume, FOB pricing, drives, CTFs and sell expense to ensure optimization of the BU’s profitability. 
    • Work with the Revenue Management and Sales to proactively identify pricing opportunities and prepare pre and post financial analyses that support and validate BU proposals and new products introductions that are aligned with corporate strategy
    • Manage the development, maintenance, and communication of promotional calendars to wholesalers and internal personnel; ,anage the promotion change process and recommend pricing / promotion changes that help the BU reach or exceed targeted objectives
    • Perform pre- and post-analysis of drive spending to ensure the most effective use of dollars; incorporate learnings from the analyses into the approval process for initial budget request or subsequent program changes; utilize key learnings, from the pre and post analytics to develop future promotional and tactical spend budgets
    • Lead the development of the annual BU plan; provide detail assumptions to Corporate Finance regarding key drivers of the BU financial plan such as volume, FOB pricing, drives, CTFs, and selling expense given corporate guidelines; work with the BU management team to determine the appropriate allocation of plan depletions by MDM / brand / month and work with supply chain to ascertain an accurate billings plan by MDM / brand & package / month; develop the plan FOB pricing and promotion calendar by working with revenue management and field sales to ensure plans align with corporate strategies and budget dollars
    • Provide the BUVP support as it relates to management of the CTF spend in compliance with corporate policy; perform ROI analyses on key CTF spend and provide guidance to the BU Management Team as to the most efficient and effective use of these funds based upon fact based analysis
    • Lead the training efforts of Sales personnel in the area of financial and revenue management; provide leadership as it relates to the change management aspects of moving from a volume orientated field sales organization to one that focuses on profitability
    • Supervise the Finance & Pricing Analyst who will support the duties identified above; provide developmental feedback and career direction
    • Ensure assets are safeguarded and a strong internal control environment is maintained

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
    • 10 or more years of combined experience in pricing, financial analysis, and accounting
    • Exceptional spreadsheet and PC proficiency (Windows, Office Suite); strong experiencewith financial systems (Hyperion, JD Edwards, Demantra) and high aptitude for new software applications
    • Excellent communication and interaction skills, both oral and written
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team; extensive managerial experience, demonstrating ability to communicate and influence senior management and stakeholders throughout the organization
    • Solid financial acumen and analytical/problem solving ability
    • Strong customer service orientation is required with ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
    • Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities
    • Requires one to be a team player with a positive attitude, highly motivated, a change oriented individual able to work with a variety of people at all levels; as well as, a self starter with the ability to work independently or in a team

    Preferred Qualifications

    • CPG/Beverage Alcohol experience
    • MBA and CPA
