We are hiring a director of field medical capabilities (FMC) to lead MSL training and medical customer tool development for the Medical Account Management (MAM) team. Reporting to the head of MSL Capabilities, this individual will be a member of the field medical leadership team and collaborate closely with US medical affairs, franchise and global stakeholders. We are seeking a high capacity individual with strong leadership and project management skills who is innovative, creative, and can effectively translate clinical data to value for US payers. The FMC director, MAM, will be responsible for the following: Therapeutic area, MAM, HEOR, and soft-skills training - Create strategic training plans aligned with medical objectives and develop tailored content for the field medical team that is focused on payers
-Proactively bring forward innovative approaches to meeting the payer needs thru tailored tool development
-Proactively identify field medical needs and develop impactful disease state, economic data and scientific content that differentiates Novartis products
-Plan and manage resources for content development and training including vendors and budget(s)
-Lead onboarding for all new-hire MSLs, conduct mock scenarios at the end of onboarding, provide feedback to field medical management
-Partner with the HEOR (Health Economics and Outcomes Research), Patient Access, Business Units, Medical Units and Medical Access organizations to develop payer specific customer materials

-Doctoral degree with MSL and medical director experience at the associate director or director level strongly preferred
-Ability to lead without authority
-Experience in HEOR, MAM, reimbursement, payer landscape
-Experience working with investor relations and pipeline products
-Experience with product launch, pricing, market access
-Demonstrated proficiency in organizing, strategizing and communicating within a matrix organization on a cross-functional team
-Demonstrated ability for high capacity learning and implementation of tactics
-Thorough knowledge of designated therapeutic area: clinical medicine, disease management, medical research practices, healthcare business and managed market knowledge
-Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation and Strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities, and customer focus are necessary.
-Demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret, translate and communicate study results to payer customers.
-Demonstrated ability to manage projects and to effectively coach, train, and mentor scientific/clinical persons at all skill
