The Director, Enterprise Architecture & Digital Technology is responsible for defining, developing, and executing the IT Enterprise Architecture & Digital Technology services in alignment with business needs and strategic direction.

  • Enhance and evolve the current Enterprise Architecture program and will define and create the Digital Technology program in IT.
  • Create & maintain the IT Strategy and roadmaps which define the current state and future direction of the technological and digital portfolio across the enterprise.
  • Work closely with IT Leaders, Solution Architects, and Business Partners to understand the overall IT service strategy and business direction in order to define a robust and aligned EA and Digital Transformation strategy and technology roadmap.
  • Identify and evaluate current, new and emerging digital technologies which support the defined strategy.
  • Oversee and execute technology reviews and POC's to determine appropriate utilization in the technology portfolio and will develop business use cases which realize return on investment.
  • Define and maintain all Sunovion IT technology standards, solution/design templates, EA and Digital governance processes/policies, and procedures for ensuring compliance.
  • Create and maintain the IT Service Catalog and the detailed descriptions and interrelationships of the essential components of IT services in the business, information, applications & technology domains.
  • Partner with IT and Business Leaders to drive the adoption of digital technologies and enable IT transformation in support of business growth and efficiency.
  • Guide Sunovion's use of technology across all geographic areas, businesses, and functions.

Essential Functions

  • Define, create & maintain the enterprise and digital IT technology, design, integration, & adaptation strategies.
  • Work with IT Leaders, Solution Architects, and Business Partners to effectively define and document current state, future state, initiatives, and underlying dependencies and assumptions.
  • Design and maintain consistent enterprise-wide and digital technology roadmaps that integrate functional requirements from all business units and technical requirements from Solutions Development and Operations organizations.
  • Maintain Sunovion's application and infrastructure rationalization strategies.
  • Identify current, new and emerging digital technologies in accordance with IT and company direction and strategy.
  • Investigate capabilities and evaluate suitability for review.
  • Identify and develop use cases which represent real value to the business.
  • Work with internal and external resources to perform POC's.
  • Determine ROI and drive implementation and adoption as appropriate.
  • Design and maintain consistent enterprise-wide architecture and digital standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute processes for enforcement of technology standards, policies, and procedures by Sunovion IT organizations, external vendors and outsourced service providers.
  • Review and approve key project design deliverables (e.g., solution architecture, technical design).
  • Design and maintain standard solution templates and design patterns that assist solution architects and COEs to develop solutions to business unit requirements that use/re-use common technology platforms.
  • Monitor & measure the execution plan against the strategy & KPIs; identify and track gaps & opportunities.
  • Review and adjust the strategy for continuous improvement.
  • Approve and track exceptions.
  • Partner with IT and Business Leaders to understand requirements and engage collaboration and adoption of digital technologies.
  • Socialize the enterprise and digital strategy and roadmap and conduct training.
  • Guide Sunovion's use of technology and drive transformation.
  • Establish processes for identifying opportunities to leverage digital technologies to create meaningful and sustainable business value.
  • Serve as a senior technology advisor to major projects and programs.
  • Maintain knowledge and expertise of industry and technology offerings and trends.
  • Engage internal peers, external resources, industry publications, and relevant training/conferences in order to effectively evaluate Sunovion's Enterprise Architecture and Digital Technology strategy and roadmap against other points of view.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Experience developing Digital IT services
  • Working knowledge in all areas of technology (digital, infrastructure, applications, end-user platforms, IT operations, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of technology offerings and industry best practices
  • Strong planning experience, especially the design of long term strategies
  • Experience working with major vendors (hardware, software, services)
  • Experience working in a shared services organization
  • Experience working with Managed Service Providers
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to communicate professionally & effectively with all levels in the organization, including executive leadership
