This position leads motorcycle Product Development (PD) Program Management with responsibility for Original Equipment (OE) and Parts & Accessories (P&A) product programs and methodology. This transformational change leader works collaboratively with H-D strategy and execution teams to align product portfolio vision with PD capability and capacity to deliver the company’s Life Cycle Plan (LCP).
•Directs OE and P&A motorcycle program management from project start through start-of-production (SoP) inclusive of all aspects of program delivery (e.g. Planning, Design, Design Verification, Production Validation, Launch, & Close)
•Owns PD program delivery methodology and is responsible for envisioning, implementing, and executing methods inclusive of framework, process, and tools that are in line with strategic goals to reduce complexity, waste, and defects while increasing speed, agility, efficiency, and customer focus
• Accountable to drive portfolio/program health and increase PD program delivery efficiency and effectiveness while partnering with business leaders to identify and remove barriers and keep teams focused on what is most critical
•Oversees program management activities including, objective and goal setting, critical path creation and execution, resource planning and allocation, budget allocation and approval, risk/issue management, metrics, and day-to-day program operations
•Partners with Motorcycle Management, Advanced Engineering, Styling and others to develop and mature robust product plans, motorcycle concepts, and innovative products to feed the PD LCP
•Collaborates cross-functionally across PD to influence all aspects of program execution including: Motorcycle Management, Styling, Engineering, Finance, Supply Management, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Human Resources to drive business results
•Facilitates the Product Development Leadership (PDL) cross-functional executive program governance body including monthly reviews to ensure business objectives are met
•Manages and develops a direct team of program leaders responsible for individual program execution and Program Manager development
Bachelor's Degree Required
•Typically requires a minimum of 12 years related experience, minimum of 5 years of management experience
•Requires successful track record of leading and implementing large programs/initiatives to meet aggressive business objectives
•Requires strong cross-functional business knowledge based on experiences gained through a variety of challenging positions across the company
•Must be a visionary thinker and capable of articulating that vision with employees at all levels of the organization
•Requires experience in developing enterprise level strategy in conjunction with execution methods
•Must have proven capabilities in process/productivity improvement including requirement planning, metrics/analytics, performance monitoring, project management and process control throughout an organization
•Requires excellent skills in leadership, communication, strategic planning, collaboration and the execution of process improvement
•Must have a leadership style that encourages collaboration, cooperation and teamwork and have the ability to successfully challenge and motivate others
•Must be a transformational leader with experience in organizational change methods
