Directs the Emergency Management program of Parkview Health. Manages planning, budgeting, training, and programming related to emergency preparedness and response functions. Serves as a liaison with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure compliance and works directly with staff, faculty, and students to develop, implement, manage, and continually improve system-wide emergency preparedness, business continuity response plans, and programs to improve Parkview Health's ability to respond to emergencies, effectively manage incidents, and systematically restore the health system and its offsite campuses to full operation following adverse events. Develops and maintains Parkview Health’s Emergency Operation Plan, ensuring a constant state of readiness for the health system. Oversees the development, support, and organization of emergency preparedness activities. Develops personnel and workforce to ensure adequate staffing. Oversees the coordination, planning, conduct of emergency drills and exercises throughout the system. Oversees the standardization of emergency preparedness activities throughout the health system. Oversees and manages program leaders at facilities system wide. Effectively works within the department budget, continually monitoring key cost areas. Provides guidance and support to Allen County Emergency Preparedness coordinator, Community Hospital Captains and Safety Coordinators, and the Mass Casualty Coordinator regarding departmental issues including enforcing policies and procedures, human resource issues and security services provided. Chairs the health system emergency preparedness committees, acting as a liaison with State Office of Emergency Preparedness and local first responders. Maintains a state of regulator readiness, as well as readiness for any disaster that may befall the organization.
Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice or related field.
Required 5 years of Emergency management/leadership experience in a healthcare environment. Preferred 10 years of Emergency management/leadership experience with the majority in a healthcare environment.
Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. Strong public speaking skills required to effectively speak to groups in a classroom, office, or auditorium setting. Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to inspire others as well as manage challenging situations. Must be able to assume the role of incident command. Must be able to travel to and from facilities. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
