The Director of Ecommerce Logistics leads the teams responsible for all logistics aspects of direct fulfillment. The Director is responsible for proactively identifying, developing and implementing network strategies to support Neiman Marcus digital business. The Director acts as the supply chain’s expert on direct-to-guest fulfillment and leads the interactions with various internal and external partners to optimize operations; develop contingencies; analyze impacts of business process changes; support merchandise strategy  changes, and proactively bring forward and advance initiatives that drive enhanced customer experience and engagement. As the organization’s ecommerce logistics expert the Director will be a continual learner who remains perpetually current on trends and strategies in the market place and maintains an awareness of competitive risks and opportunities.

Key Performance Elements

Operational oversight of small package, LTL, threshold and white glove operations

Operation and oversight of 3PL partners performing warehousing and direct fulfillment

Operation and oversight of returns network

Reconciliation and analysis of freight activity including payment, claims and other financial activities to    identify and resolve variances

Develops strategies and implements solutions to optimize direct fulfillment network

Acts as NM’s expert in Ecommerce logistics; identifying risks, opportunities, trends and key partners in the marketplace

Acts as key strategic logistics asset to internal partners in developing network strategies to support growth in digital business to include Operations; Merchandising; IS; Finance; Spend Management, Customer Service and others as needed

Responsible for identification, development and ownership of key network metrics required to optimize cost, capacity, performance and superior customer experience

Ensures standard operating procedures and best practices are implemented and followed to drive optimal team performance

Responsible for coaching, teaching, training and development of leaders






Requirements: Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Bachelor’s Degree required - preferably in Supply Chain related field

5 years of experience in direct-to-guest network operations

Extensive knowledge and expertise in direct to guest fulfillment leveraging multiple external partners

Flexible, adaptable and strategic thinker who is open to, thrives on and drives continual change

Working knowledge of logistics finance and ability to identify, analyze and correct variances

Ability to build strong partnerships across the organization

Ability to act independently to proactively drive process improvements

Ability to influence without authority to gain buy-in from partners

Ability to teach, train, coach and develop leaders
