POSITION SUMMARY:

The Director of Data Integrity and Internal Controls is responsible for the successful execution and monitoring of data quality and SOXaudit controls for revenue cycle management functions.  The individual will be tasked with leading and managing new site implementations, strategic organizational initiatives and projects in the areas of data management, data quality improvements and data cleanup/archiving.  Additionally, this individual will be responsible for developing audit control documentation and processes, establishing quality metrics and ensuring compliance in meeting expectations through continuous monitoring.  This position works collaboratively across the organization and with external partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee implementation processes and workgroup; ensure go lives remain on target by coordinating activities amongst different groups, taking a leadership role to ensure deliverables are met
  • Implement data quality controls, monitor data integrity, manage data quality work group, manage and facilitate data policy audit processes. Identify and understand the critical data issues in terms of business impact/risk/opportunity and ensure data policy enforcement and compliance. 
  • Continuous evaluation of HL7 interfaces, scorecard and manual processes for optimization. Provide status update dashboard on data quality across the organization
  • Engage and partner with third party vendors, IT and other parties as required to remove roadblocks and meet project deliverables
  • Manage quality assurance staff and functions
  • Oversight and management of Internal Controls for SOX Compliance, serve as a liaison for all external audit and regulatory agencies
  • Manage audit staff; planning, organizing, directing and monitoring internal audit operations
  • Ensure all control processes are performed and documented appropriately.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Experience with data analysis, quality, and validation tools
  • Knowledgeable in data profiling, root cause analysis, quality and continuous process improvement
  • Ability to translate user requirements into technical specifications
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross functional teams of IT professionals, business executives, and other key stakeholders towards common goals and objectives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify quantify and effectively raise business risks associated with data quality
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and risk management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications, public speaking, and presentation skills
  • Ability prioritize workload and function well in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong quantitative skills preferred with proficiency in Excel and Power Point
  • Working knowledge of revenue cycle, healthcare payment models, physician practice management, payer contracting, and managed care models
  • Strong background in federal and state laws and requirements relating to healthcare management
  • SQL experiencepreferred

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, Information Systems or related field; or equivalent experience in lieu of degree

Experience: 5+ years of data analytics, data management, data quality, continuous process improvement and audit controls, preferably in the healthcare industry serving in a leadership capacity.

SPECIAL JOB OR ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Work performed in office setting, with travel as needed

OTHER PHYSICAL AND/OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sitting at desk for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
  • Working on computer for up to eight hours (w/breaks)
  • Moving/lifting file boxes (up to 25 lbs.)
