Responsibilities and Qualifications:
The Critical Care Services director ensures the delivery of quality critical care within the hospital. Ensures that staffing is at appropriate level; maintains financial control of unit, collaborates and maintains open communication with medical staff, administration and staff; monitors appropriate utilization of resources in the provision of care; assures regulations and standards are met. Collaborates with medical staff and others in the provision of care; demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with others in communication and problem resolution; is sensitive to the needs of patients, families and the fellow co-workers. The Director is responsible for the administrative direction, coordination and evaluation of the functions nursing within Critical Care services. Participates on nursing committees as assigned.Abides by Mercy Hospital Fort Smith's safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe environment for patients and co-workers.Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Completed or substantially completed Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or related field.
Licensure: Current RN license with Arkansas Board of Nursing or current temporary licensure.
Experience: Requires five years experience in leadership or
administrative position and five years clinical experience in an intensive care setting.
Certification/Registration: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
Must have a current ACLS card or complete a course within six months of hire date.

Demonstrates skills in human relations and communication, both written and verbal. Demonstrates clinical competence in patient care delivery. Possesses the ability to assess data and assist personnel in providing appropriate level of care. Performs responsibilities while fulfilling the Philosophy of Mercy Hospital Fort Smith in providing care to those served. Makes decisions and determines actions using our Core Values as a guide.
Education: Master of Science preferred.
Experience: Prefer five years Critical Care Director experience
Certification/Registration: CCRN preferred
