Director, Cloud Infrastructure


We are seeking a Cloud Computing and Technology Infrastructure expert to lead the Cloud and Infrastructure Center of Excellence (CoE) team. This position reports to the Centers of Excellence Director and will play a key leadership role in executing and supporting corporate growth strategy. The successful Cloud Infrastructure Director will be a proven cloud and technology infrastructure thought leader with broad architecture and design skills and a track record of leading the development of marketable innovations, technical proposal solutions and content, and effective capture support materials relevant to cloud and infrastructure.


The Centers of Excellence group provides all technical support to Development and Innovation (D&I). Team members are comfortable supporting several concurrent initiatives. The successful Cloud Infrastructure Director must have a substantial record developing and implementing innovative technical solutions is crucial. Must demonstrate a clear understanding of the missions, business rhythms, and technical support needs of corporate strategy, marketing, proposal, research, capture, and innovation organizations.





-Create cloud and infrastructure innovations/technical solutions that address market/customer needs, wants, problems, and mission.

-Create and deliver white papers, presentations and demos in support of client or prospective client meetings, industry events, conferences, etc.

-Support CoE infrastructure/process/knowledge management.



-Lead the Cloud and Infrastructure team, assisting members' professional and skill development and maintenance and the team's ability to effectively act as company cloud and infrastructure technical sales and innovation engine.

-Responsible for setting priorities within the team, as well as the quality and schedule of team products.

-Foster and ensure a collaborative, service-oriented, revenue driven environment.


Technical Innovation, Solutioning, and Sales

-Lead efforts to identify, evaluate, and formalize potential revenue-generating innovations, including the evaluation of market applicability and cost and schedule realism, and development of technical sales strategy.

-Extract marketable innovations from existing programs and prepare them for sales into the broader market.

-Support strategic capture efforts by preparing and delivering demonstrations, proof-of-concept development, and other technical artifacts as needed. Attend customer meetings and other events to support strategic captures.

-Support general capture efforts by providing detailed, correct, and current technical information about company capabilities and programs.

-Create effective, deliverable technical proposal solutions/content that conform to requirements, win strategy, and corporate strategy.




-Degree in computer science or related technical discipline.

-Minimum of 15 years leading public sector IT infrastructurearchitecture and designs.

-Minimum of 5 years leading cloud technology architecture, design, migration, strategy, and operations.

-Proven track record designing and delivering technical innovations.

-Strong leadership, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.

-Outstanding skills and experience in technical capture support and proposal solution development.

-Ability to conduct technical demonstrations, sit on technical panel discussions, and speak at industry meetings and/or conferences.

-Solid written and verbal communication skills.

-Must be comfortable leading by influence in a non-hierarchical environment, where collaboration is crucial to success.

-Diversity, versatility, flexibility; ability to weave complex solutions and show success in bringing disparate parts together to win bid.

-Must be comfortable with multidisciplinary changing and evolving environments and apply political sensitivity dealing with internal and external stakeholders and clients.


Preferred Qualifications:


-Master's or higher degree in technical, technical management, or relevant discipline.

-Executive or senior management experience relevant to US Government cloud and infrastructure.

-Extensive network in DoD and/or Federal Civilian Agencies in the IT/CIO arena.

-Experience serving DoD, VA, GSA, DoS, DoC, HHS, DHS, IRS, or USDA.

-Bias for action; orientation towards solving rather than simply identifying problem areas.

-Service orientation; delivers what internal customers need.

-Applies a strong client perspective as a driving force behind business decisions.

-Critical thinker who gathers and analyzes information from a variety of sources, develops and tests solutions to complex problems.

-Effectively plans and manages towards both short and long-term goals.
