The Director of Clinical Recruitment is responsible for directing the Emergency Medicine recruitment efforts associated with a designated region while maintaining an attenuated book of business to allow for leading/mentoring responsibilities. The Director will be a leader to their respective team by developing skills, training, assisting with sourcing strategies, and providing feedback relative to performance at regular intervals. The Director will collaborate with fellow Directors through meetings and dialogue to promote best practices across the country (including standardized processes). The Director will report to the Senior Director, Clinical Recruitment.


  • Assist with sourcing and hiring new recruiters for their respective team should a need be designated (In collaboration with the VP, Physician Services and Sr. Director, Clinical Recruitment)
  • Attend weekly regional staffing calls for respective sites
  • Comply with management processes as established by Sr. Director, Clinical Recruitment and Vice President, Physician Services
  • Will develop strategies and implement the same to attain "intelligence" on both certain key areas and Sound Physicians' competitors
  • "Account" responsibility for key searches as designated by Sr. Director, Clinical Recruitment
  • Retrieve and report necessary data to track sourcing, research & recruitment activity
  • Projects will be assigned that require proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint and database management
  • Positively project the values and goals of Sound Physicians with sophistication and maturity required to build credibility with candidates and Sound Physicians' employees.
  • Approximately 75% book of recruiting searches, based on business fluctuations in region
  • Salesforce Compliance and reconciliation
  • Residency outreach – responsible for outreach strategies and execution with recruiters for region(s)
  • 3rd party name clears for respective regional recruiting team
  • Assistance with training and development of recruiters in collaboration with Sr. Director, Clinical Recruitment; Directors to assist as needed
  • Other Duties:
  • Understand and follow Sound Physicians' Code of Conduct and Compliance Program
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Must relate well to physicians and key management personnel
  • Must be prepared to both review and develop strategies to successfully develop professional relationships with physicians candidates
  • Display a level of sophistication that allows easy interaction with both existing and potential Sound colleagues as well Sound Physicians' hiring leadership
  • Must possess a track record of filling searches and/or closing deals as well ability to network with key industry personnel to garner appropriate research results
  • Must demonstrate ability to foster and maintain mutually respectful recruiting relationships
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and strategize accordingly
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills, well-developed grammar and composition skills
  • Must possess ability to independently understand, follow and implement complex instructions
  • Must be able to interface effectively with internal and external contacts
  • Must demonstrate flexibility and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in fast paced environment
  • High level of detail and accuracy is required



  • Bachelor's degree required


  • 5 years of experience in executive or physician recruitment or equivalent physician sales/healthcare experience required. Emergency Medicine Recruitment experience, preferred
  • At least 2 of the 5 years involving management of recruitment/sales personnel
