  • Position Summary
    • This is an administrative and leadership position directing the activities of Maine Medical Center’s Clinical Engineering and Shared Service Clinical Engineering Departments, providing clinical engineering leadership and negotiating designing and administering service/support agreements and participating in negotiations for capital biomedical and imaging equipment and systems for Maine Medical Center (MMC) and all related facilities, sites and locations, Mainehealth hospitals, affiliates strategic partners, and other entities under contract to receive such services. Must demonstrate the ability to identify and assimilate a broad range of technology, operational, and financial information and develop strategies to meet clinical, financial and operational goals and objectives. The position is responsible for the Development and management of on going, capital equipment replacement planning for Maine Medical Center and hospitals under contract to receive such services. Quality, operational and financial performance of all Clinical Engineering and Clinical Engineering Shared Services. Responsible for creating budgets and programs and for quality of operational and financial performance.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Knowledge of biomedical, imaging, telecommunications, and computer equipment and systems, design, application, operation, and support as normally acquired through completion of a Bachelors Degree in Clinical/Biomedical Engineering or Electrical Engineering and ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible related work experience. A Masters degree in Biomed Engineering, Business or Healthcare Management or directly related field preferred.
    • Ten (10) or more years of related managerial experience, extensive knowledge of principles of organizational effectiveness, financial management, purchasing, personnel management and administrative leadership. Management and business skills necessary to develop, negotiate and administer budgets, policies and procedures, service/support agreements and capital acquisitions.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, local, JCAHO and other such regulatory requirements relative to the service and support of medical equipment and systems.
    • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills necessary to effectively direct and lead subordinates, foster effective working relationships with key medical and administrative staff and lead multi disciplinary teams at multiple MMC, MaineHealth hospitals, affiliates, strategic partners and other entities.
    • Knowledge of biomedical, imaging, telecommunications, and computer equipment.
    • Five (5) or more years of related managerial experience, necessary to gain extensive knowledge of principles of organizational effectiveness, financial management, purchasing, personnel management and administrative leadership.
    • Management and business skills necessary to develop, negotiate and administer budgets, policies and procedures, service/support agreements and capital acquisitions. Knowledge of federal, state, local, JCAHO and other such regulatory requirements relative to the service and support of medical equipment and systems.
