As the Director of P&C Business Partner to the organization, you wear several hats: trusted advisor, consultant, coach, and a people leader to a small team of Human Resources (HR) professionals. You sit alongside and collaborate with the business units to develop and implement strategies that support people and organizational needs in addition to facilitating the deployment of the People Plan. Every day you engage in business conversations, influence people leaders and equip them to lead their teams with courage to foster a highly engaged and inspiring workplace. You partner with leaders to manage change, grow their teams, foster the right culture to create positive team member experiences.

Here's how

  • Provide leadership to a high performance team of P&C Business Partners dedicated to supporting client groups within Accelerate Co, Internet of Things and TELUS Quebec and Consumer business units
  • Provide consultative expertise to improve organizational capability including workforce planning
  • Create and implement organizational design, leadership development, process improvement and team effectiveness
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leaders by presenting multiple perspectives and challenging the status quo to expand their capabilities
  • Provide exceptional and collaborative leadership serving as a personalized coach who clarifies priorities, promotes efficiencies and most importantly, builds an environment in which the team can thrive and bring their best to work every day
  • Create a learning environment and support systems for teams in order to create a workplace where P&C professionals can excel in their roles
  • Contribute to inorganic growth activities including strategic contribution to due diligence process and facilitate integration of mergers and acquisitions
  • Proactively partners with clients to identify strategic issues or organizational design challenges and provides advice and expertise to help develop creative solutions
  • Liaise with Centres of Excellence (CoE) to provide timely and constructive feedback to help drive the evolution of business unit programs and solutions
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset, continually looks for opportunities to increase the return of investment (ROI) of people programs and ways to improve the team member experience
  • Lead change by partnering with business leaders and other internal groups including Communications, Finance, and Corporate Development to proactively manage change impacting team members

  • Values for success:
  • 10 or more years of HR experience in a Business Partner role and 3 or more years of experience leading a team
  • Work experience within large, complex organizations and across different industries as a professional services consultant or in a senior leadership role
  • Experience working with senior executives including C-level
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management or related discipline

Great-to-haves

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree
  • Bilingualism in English and French, written and spoken
