The Director of Global Molecular Business Development will report to the Global Head of Molecular Business Development at Resolution Bioscience and will lead and oversee activities to identify and to create and grow partnerships with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and related companies in the use of Agilent/Resolution technologies, products and services for the development of new Companion Diagnostics and Pharma services, including early stage Research Use Only, Investigational Use clinical trials, and LDT and/or IVD development. The role will coordinate business development opportunities and pharma and biotech relationship / alliance management with the Chief Business Officer, Agilent CDx.
This role will be responsible for establishing, aligning, and facilitating pre-commercial agreements with pharma partners for projects in negotiation and development phases. During development phases, early commercialization and launch this position will also be responsible for maintaining commercial alliances with key internal stakeholders across Agilent businesses and pharma partner stakeholders.
A successful candidate will have extensive domain knowledge of oncology precision medicine, current biomarkers in development, clinical trials, deep technical understanding of current solutions, and comprehensive overview of the competitive landscape.

North American lead to prospect and lead establishment of partnerships with pharmaceutical and biotech companies to develop, globally register, and commercialize molecular Companion Diagnostics solutions in parallel with pharmaceutical and biotechnology targeted therapy and personalized/precision medicine programs. Solutions will include NGS, both cell-free DNA and tissue, as well as other molecular technologies such as PCR. Pharma Services to include early stage research through registrational clinical trials.
Generate, secure, and drive a continuous deal flow of attractive partnership opportunities that lead to high value agreements with an emphasis on agreements that cover development, pre-launch commercialization and launch activities
North American lead to solicit and pitch Agilent/Resolution NGS capabilities, competencies, and offerings to strategically important potential new pharmaceutical, biotech, and commercial partners
Primarily responsible for the negotiation and establishment of partnership contracts, conduct due diligence and drive deal process to execution of contracts and related business agreements
Develop financial models to support the business case for new partnerships and projects
Drive development of deal specific work plans by project management and create key financial terms and budgets for new precision medicine partnership projects in collaboration with Research and Development, IVD Assay Development, Agilent CDx, Corporate Business Development and Finance
Develop and maintain a roadmap of all potential companion diagnostic partnerships to maintain a healthy, growing and diversified precision medicine partnership pipeline, including tracking oncology clinical trials and emerging molecular biomarkers
Understand and effectively engage a wide range of internal Resolution and cross-Agilent functional areas including Legal, IP, Finance, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Resolution’s CLIA Lab, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Corporate Development, and M&A to develop and maintain effective molecular diagnostic services and solutions.
Advanced degree (PhD) within oncology, molecular biology or related scientific field required
Minimum of 4 years of experience working in global IVD business development, licensing or commercial oncology-focused business role for molecular In vitro Diagnostics (IVD)s or Biopharma industry organization
Demonstrated extensive and successful track record of establishing partnerships in molecular IVDs, medical device or pharmaceutical industry, including companion diagnostics
Deep domain expertise in oncology, especially with emerging biomarkers across all indications.
Knowledge Companion Diagnostics development and applicable regulations including FDA
Minimum of 5 years of experience and success within other biotech/pharmaceutical and/or diagnostic companies, with 3s or more years in biomarker research is required
In-depth skills and expertise within the precision medicine space with an experience in co-development of companion diagnostics to support targeted therapies
