Cato is seeking an experienced Director, Benefits & Compensation to join its Human Resources department. The position is located at its corporate offices in Charlotte, North Carolina.
This position is responsible for the design, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs, including base pay, incentive pay, health and welfare benefits and retirement benefits by:
Developing creative, innovative, cost effective benefits plans that offer comprehensive affordable benefits to associates while assuring the lowest possible cost to the company;
Developing and managing 401(k) plans, ESOP and Employee Stock Purchase plan;
Recommending Plan Administrators, Investment Advisors and changes as needed through the RFP process;
Managing Performance Appraisal Process by developing and disseminating appropriate appraisal forms for each level of associate in both the Home Office and the field organization including instruction manuals and training for new supervisors;
Managing merit, bonus and Restricted Stock grants along with the Director, HRIS & Administration as well as supplying information to management and Board of Directors as necessary; and
Evaluating positions based on market pricing and internal equity as necessary.
Requirements:
Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in Benefits and Compensation;
A four-year college degree in Business, Human Resources or related field;
Strong organizational and administrative skills including ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
Strong negotiating and vendor relations skills;
Strong managerial/leadership skills;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, HRIS and Internet;
Good mathematics aptitude;
Collaborative aptitude;
Patient, professional personality with a positive spirit toward servicing all associates; and
Must be able to relocate to Charlotte, North Carolina.
