Directed Energy Test and EvaluationEngineer
Support directed energy Test and Evaluation (T&E) projects supporting technology and prototype development and transition to operational use. Provide T&E functional capability across multiple directed energy projects. Analyze test plan development and conduct testing, data acquisition and reduction, and reporting of test results. Analyze the development of technical T&E documentation, including test plans and procedures for complex directed energy combat weapon systems. Oversee T&E engineering tasks regarding sensor processing, communications, guidance, and control. Review and integrate technical test requirements into test plans and procedures. Provide technical input on test and situation reports and quick look summaries and support technical test planning and readiness reviews, as required.
-5+ years of experience with analyzing or executing developmental or operational test plans, including directed energy systems plans
-Experience with laser system or high-power electromagnetics system testing, including environmental and performance diagnostics and data acquisition
-Knowledge of high energy laser (HEL) or high power electromagnetic (HPEM) systems, components, performance, and effects
-BS degree in Engineering or 10+ years of experience in directed energy system design, performance, or integration with operational platforms or command and control systems
-Experience with designing experience techniques to maximize the effectiveness of limited tests and parameter variations
-Knowledge of laser safety and electromagnetic interference (EMI) or electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements and their applications
-Knowledge of requirements and techniques for target acquisition, track, identification, and aim point maintenance in planning tests
