The Director, Supply Chain – USA position reports directly to the Senior Director, Supply Chain Americas Region and will lead the USA transformation of the supply chain organization, driving an optimized balance between service levels, distribution cost and inventory. This role includes responsibility for the USA/Puerto Rico S&OP and related inventory processes, replenishment centers, warehousing and transportation areas. She/he will work closely with the Senior Director Americas Supply Chain to set processes and metrics, share best practices, and represent the supply chain perspective as a member of America's Supply Chain Leadership Team. She/He will be the central point of contact for the USA commercial leadership team and collaborate to develop SC strategies that support the commercial growth strategies.

Most importantly, this leader will serve as a change agent to the USA region and will develop top grade talent and optimize the overall USA supply chain organization to become more flexible and customer centric and have a strong focus on delivering world-class results in service, quality and cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Warehouse & Distribution

  • Network Optimization: Identify, model and deploy continuous value improvement programs. Adapt and innovate distribution network to decrease costs and secure compliance to quality and regulatory standards. Meet customer needs by maintaining/improving service standards.
  • Deploy Total Delivered Profit (TDP) program to improve customer and product profitability after distribution cost allocation.
  • Standardize, Improve KPIs, Cost Control & assure Quality and Compliance.
  • Control cost and quality.
  • USA Region freight management.
  • Develop flexibility to adapt footprint in the USA to support M&A activities and service innovations.
  • Compliant to GDP (Good Distribution Practices) and regulatory requirements.

Supply and Demand Planning

  • S&OP leadership
  • Capacity planning vertical integration: Realign plant planning organization and processes to reach optimal performance for inventory turns, and raw materials.
  • Inventory strategic plan: Deploy improvement plan to reduce inventory.
  • Own end-to-end supply chain inventory performance in terms of agility and cost.
  • Operational responsibility of master schedule planning for factories.
  • Ensure alignment of forecast with finance organization.
  • Focus on standard demand management process roll out for the US.

Strategic Business Planning

  • Deploy and lead strategic business review to align supply chain with the commercial organization in order to formalize decision process and drive execution.
  • Educate key partners within the business.
  • Review business plan vs. business trend.
  • Assess mitigation plan.
  • Negotiate and formalize course of actions.

Qualifications - External

The ideal candidate will be a supply chain expert with cross-functional leadership experience in organizations known for

world-class supply chain capabilities.

BS in Business related field required (MBA preferred).

S/he will have at least 10-15 years of experience in supply chain management with a strong working knowledge of advanced tools/processes in logistics and network optimization.

S/he will have a strong understanding of advanced S&OP programs and experience working with third party logistics providers, commercial business teams and customers to improve cost and service levels.

This individual must be a proactive, action-oriented business leader with the ability to solve complex problems and drive change within well-established organizations.

S/he must be a dynamic leader with strong executive presence and business credibility.

Most importantly, this individual must balance the strategic and hands-on requirements of this position with a flexible working style and a proven ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders.

Specific Desired Requirements:

  • Experience supporting the USA region
  • Deep expertise in critical supply chain processes, including, inventory and distribution network management.
  • Proven operational and strategic management skills. Capable of reviewing, coaching and challenging people on operational plans and processes. Experience designing and presenting overall supply chain strategies to upper management (including CEO, CFO, business unit leaders and VP Operations).
  • Strong business and financial acumen. Demonstrated understanding of overall business strategy. Can assess operational risks related to supply chain execution and recommend mitigation plans. S/he will have prior experience managing similar sized supply chain budgets with a record of improving financial performance.
  • The ability to top grade and develop talent is critical.
  • Proven skills/experience to lead cultural transformation.
