Position Details

Summary: Manages a number of major regional accounts (>$25M) with multi-market influence and coordinates with other SSB sales representatives and cross-functional channel team to execute a comprehensive marketing plan

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate market-by-market penetration of major accounts to identify competitive strengths and market-share opportunities
  • Oversees total annual sales volume of at least $25M
  • Develop semi-annual market-penetration plan for the accounts
  • Coordinate the deployment of RAS and KCSR resources to execute the plan
  • Use of Supply Agreements and strategic pricing/merchandising is essential
  • Maintain direct relationships with key decision makers in accounts
  • Interact with Operations associates to ensure order fulfillment and returns
  • Understand the competitors' local strategy and deploy strategies to counteract
  • Conduct business and product reviews with the customer
  • Ensure Simmons products and marketing message is positively and fairly represented in terms of total floor space, point of sale, condition of the floor samples and location
  • Report account information as required
  • Manage a team of SAM's who each oversee a regional strategic account
  • Oversee $100M+of business
  • Responsible for strategizing and hitting Adjusted Gross Sales and Contribution Margin targets

Coordinate the deployment of FSR (not KCSR/RAS)

Position Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience as SAM or 7+ years retail / consumer product sales experience (of which 2+ years of which must be in bedding sales)
  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) required

Job Factors/Work Environment

  • Up to 50% travel
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature
  • Frequent overnight travel and holiday and weekend hours
  • Up to 20% of time spent in retail store service and training
