Digital Yield Manager

Reporting to the Director of Planning & Inventory - Digital, Digital Yield Manager is responsible for maximizing digital revenue & the utilization of its inventory across direct and programmatic saleschannels. You will play a key part in measuring and optimizing the overall health of Rogers Digital Media business, including analysis of revenue, supply and demand, pricing & inventory consumption. You will then use these data points to drive our approach to monetization by working closely with Sales, content, product, ad operations, programmatic & insights teams. Analytically minded and extremely detail-oriented, our ideal candidate has a passion for learning and intellectual curiosity that will lead them to ask questions beyond their given daily tasks.
What you will be doing:

  • Develop insightful quantitative analysis, reporting, and predictive models to support well-informed decision making regarding pricing, inventory, and system improvements
  • Develop and maintain dashboard reporting to identifying key performance trends and indicators such as volume, ad product mix, pricing and sell-through
  • Proactively suggests tools and systems that can support the Programmatic and Direct Sales divisions to maximize revenue
  • Evaluate the configuration and performance of the programmatic ad stack and optimize yield through pricing strategy adjustments.
  • Support and build partner relationship for programmatic exchange partners like Google & Index Exchange along with all demand sources as part of the ad stack
  • Understand pricing controls and business rules, working closely with Sales, Finance, and Product teams to determine best practices for rate cards, pricing tiers and booking rules
  • Evaluate performance and provide guidance on all ad products available on our networks, including availability and opportunities for each unit
  • Ensure that the revenue and inventory implications of any proposed modifications within product, pricing and/or operations are quantified and communicated
  • Be the expert on all functionality within the yield management platform, including training other power users
  • Prepare presentations for senior management to provide an accurate read on revenue and inventory levels by site
  • Handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Responds to ad hoc analysis requests

    What you have:

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ of hands-on experience in media pricing, yield management and revenue reporting
    • Hands-on experience working with ad networks, ad exchanges and/or demand side platforms (Exchange, DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, Publisher Programmatic division), an asset
    • Master’s Degreepreferred. Degree or Diploma in Business, Statistics, Analysis or Media is an asset
    • Must be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and an outstanding communicator. This person must also possess strong project management skills
    • Passionate about media and keen interest in the future of digital advertising
    • Consultative, data-driven approach towards delivering business results and process improvements
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work with all levels of management, across different organizations
    • Advanced MS Excel software skills (pivot tables, vlookup, ISNUMBER, Macro development, visual basic)
    • Ability to meet deadlines and provide superior customer service to external and internal clients
    • Knowledge of the French language, spoken and written would be a bonus
