The ideal candidate knows how to build and scale performance marketing campaigns, uses their insights to think up creative solutions, and brings the analytical expertise necessary to optimize performance and drive ROI.  The Digital Marketing Manager reports into the Tailgate Brand President and will potentially supervise a Digital Marketing Coordinator.

ABOUT TAILGATE:
Tailgate is an AE owned brand that specializes in premium Collegiate, Pro and Licensed apparel.  The brand was started 20 years ago as a father and son project in the basement of their Iowa home.  Today we offer Men’s & Women’s tees and fleece in 50 Colleges, Major League Baseball (May 2018 launch) and a portfolio of premium brands (Coke, Miller-Coors, Fender Guitars, etc.).  There are 4 free-standing Tailgate stores in Athens, GA / Madison, WI / Iowa City, IA / Knoxville, TN.  Our 5th store will open in Des Moines, IA in August 2018.  We are also on AE.com and in select AE stores.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage each digital, performance marketing channel to ensure all best-practices are employed, including:
  • SEM– Partner with internal, SEO practice and external, search agency to manage the paid search and PLA campaigns
  • Affiliates – Collaborate with agency and other external partnerships to drive the Tailgate digital brand presence
  • Targeted Display – Manage retargeting and paid social channels, partnering with agency and internal stakeholders
  • Email/CRM – Partner with internal and external partners to manage customer-level campaigns
  • Testing - Recommend, implement, and testing of audiences and placements
  • Manage monthly and yearly digital marketing budgets to meet all quantifiable sales targets
  • Manage the relationship with external agencies, including communication of all business objectives while providing strategic leadership
  • Responsible for channel-level forecasting, reporting and on-going analysis
  • Partner with various, internal stakeholders such as merchandising and planning to achieve optimal, cross-functional results
  • Keep current on industry changes and competition providing recommendations on incremental opportunities
  • Collaborates with the Data Analytics Team to provide customer insights used to deliver channel-specific targets


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, or related field
  • 4-6 years of digital marketing management experience, owning sizeable budgets and an agency relationship
  • High degree of proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills
  • Proven ability to manage hundreds of campaigns with different creative and targeting
  • Understanding of how to work with creative teams and the process of obtaining ad creative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Experience in project management and seeing projects through different phases.
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • An aggressive and passionate individual will be most successful in this role
