The DevOps Engineer will:

  • Work with internal customers to perform software deployments
  • Evaluate, acquire, install, and configure third party software components
  • Set up software development and test environments
  • Administer DevOps systems, including source control and delivery systems
  • Frequent basic to moderate level Linux / Windows administration
  • Troubleshoot build and deployment problems
  • Troubleshoot Linux / Windows environment issues
  • Troubleshoot applications issues and present findings to development
  • Configure Linux / Solaris / Windows environments, including third party application installation and OS settings
  • Identify and solve current and future potential issues that might impact the development team
  • Coordinate contents of software patches and builds with developers, tests, and project management
  • Design and build scripts for building and deploying J2EE, .NET, VB6, and other application components
  • Provide guidance to junior team members
  • Act as an embedded expert for all things Development Operations

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree (concentration in Computer Science or related discipline preferable)
  • 5-7 years of DevOps experience
  • 5+ years Software Development Life Cycle experience
  • 5+ years experience with Continuous Integration Software (Jenkins or TeamCity preferred)
  • 3-5 years experience with packaging software (Inno Setup, Install4j, or InstallShield preferred)
  • 3-5 years Linux and Windows Systems Administration experience
  • 3-5 years Source Control Administration experience (Accurev, ClearCase, SVN, or GIT preferred)
  • 3-5 years Tracking Ticket System Administration a plus (Jira preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written & oral communication skills
  • Ability to lead small, independent teams to tackle short or medium term projects

Desirable:

  • Webserver administration experience a plus (Wildfly or Tomcat preferred)
  • Business Objects Administration experience
  • ANT or Maven experience
  • Java, J2EE, VB, .NET, Oracle experience
  • Database Administration experience
  • Experience with designing or implementing continuous delivery pipelines
  • Experience with converting source control systems
  • Cloud Computing Administration experience
  • Knowledge of database concepts–basic SQL
  • Knowledge of networking concepts
  • DevOps leadership experience
