The Swift Group is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join an exciting mission oriented program. This role will play a crucial part in advancing our infrastructure capabilities and ensuring the security and efficiency of our applications and systems. The role is located on onsite in Herndon, VA and requires a TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
Position Overview: As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our infrastructure using modern technologies and best practices. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation, security, and scalability across our systems.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using Ansible and other automation tools.
- Manage Eclipse-based development environments, Git repositories, and CI/CD pipelines (DevOps) for Java and Python projects.
- Conduct security reviews of applications and infrastructure to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Participate actively in agile activities, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Research and evaluate new technologies in object-oriented programming to enhance our development practices.
- Implement and optimize cloud-based services to support our applications and systems.
- Collaborate effectively within an engineering team, mentoring colleagues with varying skill levels.
- Design and build APIs and services using REST, SOAP, and other protocols.
- Utilize infrastructure automation technologies such as Docker, Vagrant, and build automation tools like Maven and Jenkins.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Perl, Shell, and other scripting languages to automate tasks and workflows.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- 11+ years of relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, with expertise in the following areas:
- Proficiency in Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- Strong Eclipse development skills and experience with Git, DevOps, Java, and Python.
- Experience conducting security reviews of applications and infrastructure.
- Hands-on participation in agile activities for software development.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud-based services and environments.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative engineering team environment, mentoring others.
- US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Vagrant, etc.
- Familiarity with build automation technologies such as Maven, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience in developing APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Perl, Shell, etc.
