How can you help us?

OutSystems’ R&D software engineers develop the core technological components of our flagship product, the OutSystems Platform. As a DevOps Engineer you’ll join a small team of top engineers, passionate about DevOps and Continuous Delivery that promote and enable the continuous delivery practices for the entire OutSystems R&D, enabling the delivery of high-quality software that evolves at the fast-pace of modern technology. Your team will be responsible to ensure that development and operation of product teams is as efficient as possible. Find team inefficiencies, review processes and tools in order to sustainably increase the flow of delivery.

At OutSystems you will face a wide range of engineering challenges, from planning to implementation and testing, including system design, optimizations, UX design, database design and tuning, web and mobile frontend development and much more.

We’re looking for a candidate to join our R&D Infrastructure Team as a DevOps Engineer that is versatile, enthusiastic, great team-player with strong work ethics, eager to learn and available to teach others. We want creative individuals that cherish and contribute to an informal high-performance and collaborative work environment.

Challenges and responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and evolve systems and tools to support and maintain R&D on-premises & cloud infrastructure;
• Monitor and improve the performance and ensure the scalability and reliability of the R&D infrastructure used by developers;
• Research and implement automation tools to replace existing manual processes and maintenance tasks;
• Serve as an evangelist, mentor, knowledge resource, and trainer for R&D Developers – share the knowledge about our automated processes and tools to all R&D teams in order to promote a self service infrastructure and team’s autonomy.

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering;
• Fast learner, willing to experiment new technologies and processes;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Empathic, good communication skills;
• Fluency in English.

Technical Skills:

• Solid DevOps knowledge : DevOps, CASM, Continuous integration, delivery and deployment,
• Experience with testing practices and tools;
• Experience in software development in at least one of the following languages: C#, Ruby/Chef, Python, Java, typescript;
• Solid foundations in Windows and/or Linux systems and scripting languages (e.g. Powershell, bash);
• Experience with monitoring practices and tools;
• Experience with SQL - Knowledge on SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL databases.

Experience with is a plus:

• Continuous Delivery/Deployment tools;
• Infrastructure as Code Frameworks (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Puppet);
• Public cloud providers (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud);
• Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, VirtualBox) and Containers technologies;
• Solid network understanding.
