Kforce has a client seeking a DevOps Engineer in New York, NY. Overview: Under Core TradingTechnology, the Low Latency Engineering team is responsible for infrastructure, middleware and software used by their front office aligned application teams across a multitude of product areas (e.g. Equities, Debt, Rates). Low Latency Engineeringbridges the gap between their application, client services and other core infrastructure teams; ultimately enabling Markets Technology to establish a homogenous operating environment. The team consists of five areas - connectivity, DevOps, full storefront, middleware and core engineering. This role is for a DevOps engineer (Site Reliability Engineer) to manage our Ultra Low Latency trading framework: Quantum. Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with DevOps leads in each region on DevOps strategy and standards
  • Manage non-production environment, providing day to day support for development teams
  • Estate management for ULL Trading environment
  • Ensuring the production environment is properly monitored by either writing custom scripts or installing/configuring 3rd party products; this includes monitoring of applications, OS, network gear, optical gear
  • Work with Unix SAs to procure, build, install, tune servers
  • Write custom scripts to facilitate an automated deployment of new versions of software across the Linux environment
  • Troubleshoot complex network and OS issues across a global network
  • Continuously research new technologies to improve latency throughout the environment

  • Puppet is a huge plus
  • Linux with Scripting for Automation (Python preferred, but Perl is fine)
  • Should know signaling, TAPS, basically a systems person who can program; this is for both networking and connectivity
  • Will know Operating systems, protocols, sockets, etc.
  • Ideally Fin Svcs but this role can possibly do without it
