The qualified candidate will work with a small team responsible for systems engineering, development, integration, and testing of an innovative, new satellite ground systems program that combines Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) products, Government Off The Shelf (GOTS) elements, and newly developed applications on a customer IaaS. There will be a wide range of hands-on tasks including automated software deployment on virtualized systems, system administration, ground device configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and analysis. The candidate will also work with the end customer directly in order to understand requirements and grow the system to support a variety of missions and capabilities.
The qualified candidate must be motivated and have a passion for examining new and interesting concepts with an eye towards defining innovative, cost effective, and mission enhancing systems. Experience with complex ground systems that support space system operations is encouraged, especially knowledge of Kratos/RT Logic products and solutions, though a foundational knowledge in systems engineering and integration is a strong baseline.
Experience in automated deployment strategies, including background with the OpenStack platform and/or Ansible Playbooks, is highly desired. Experience with US Government systems and processes is also a plus, as is a background in software development.
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, Mathematics, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
-Minimum of 3+ years experience in systems engineering, integration, and/or networking.
-Working knowledge of current scripting tools and operation of both Windows and Linux Operating Systems.
-Experience with public/private cloud-related technologies (AWS, Azure, OpenStack with KVM, VMWare, Docker) is desired.
-Experience with automated scripting tools (Ansible Playbooks) is desired.
-Experience with web interfaces (REST, HTML, XML) is desired.
-Experience with satellite ground systems is desired.
