COCC is looking for a Software Engineer I to be a part of our Web Development team. This rockstar engineer will code advanced level programs, maintain an in-depth knowledge of the application and become a subject matter expert in one or more areas. This person will also design and program special requests, enhancements and conversions or defect repairs as directed by the Application Systems Manager.

The job involves the following responsibilities:

  • Reviewing inputs, processes and outputs
  • Coding needed changes and/or corrections
  • Developing operator instructions where necessary
  • Troubleshooting system problems
  • Devising product functionality based upon customer/vendor and industry input
  • Participating in product planning and design meetings; reviews/creates proposed designs
  • Considering requirements of, and impacts to, broad areas of the application
  • Coordinating with other areas of the company, third party product vendors and customers for documentation release and testing purposes
  • Preparing sizing/work estimates for assigned enhancements
  • Preparing status reports as requires

You also meet most (if not more) of the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science required
  • Minimum 3-5 years programming experience in a financial services environment
  • HTML, JavaScript, and CSS experience
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret banking periodicals, professional/technical journals and technical procedures
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as amortizations, schedules, frequency distributions, internal rates of return, analyses of variance and correlation techniques
  • Knowledge of several high level programming languages
  • Knowledge of OO concepts, Relational Database concepts, Database Management, and Client/Server concepts
