We are currently looking for a Development Program Manager – FlytLIVE Connectivity – Aircraft Segment to join the Thales Avionics, a subsidiary of Thales USA team in Melbourne, FL.
The Development Program Manager – FlytLIVE Connectivity – Aircraft Segment primary responsibility is defining, managing the technology and development efforts which support the long-term strategic business development plans for the FlytLIVE Connectivity solution. In addition, this role is responsible for providing assurance to the Corporation and Business Lines that the technical solution is consistent with the Product Road map and optimized in terms of adequacy to the market needs, architectural design and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities:•Work with multiple stakeholders (Marketing, Product line, Customer Program office) to define strategies for the aircraft elements of the Global Connectivity Platform that meets business needs•Coordinates with Engineering heads of discipline/functional managers to assign personnel to support aircraft connectivity development projects•Directs work scope and priority features and developments in line with technology deployment commitments
•Accountable to deliver fully integrated and tested subsystems on scope, schedule, quality, and budget.
•Works with Project Leadership to define WBS, schedule and project execution plans
•Interfaces with procurement, quality, finance and other support organizations to ensure project goals are realized
•Acts as the entry point for all customer programs ensure development projects within your control are executing customer requirements within scope, cost and schedule
•Manage risk, issues and corrective actions within the aircraft segment of the global connectivity platform
•Validate technical solutions defined by the engineering teams to ensure compliance to customer expectations
•Coordinate the resolution of technical issues during development activities
•Support all related Bid & Proposal activities associated with the aircraft segment
Skills and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering (electrical, mechanical, aerospace, systems) or related science.
•> 10 years’ experience in aerospace or avionic product development
•> 5 years in product development leadership
•> 5 years in System and product integration
