Job Description Summary:

Swinerton Renewable Energy is looking for a talented Development Operations Engineer /System Administrator to fill an interdisciplinary position within our SOLV®Technology Group. This role willsupport our software base of advanced analytics and monitoring solutions within the renewable energy industry.

This is an exciting role within a fast-paced team environment focused on delivering andsupporting industry leading utility-scale operations and monitoring solutions. SOLV® Inc., a Swinerton company, is a leading operations and maintenance provider specializing in monitoring, data analytics,asset management,support and field operations.

This role is based in our beautiful Bend, Oregon office and will be a technical rolesupporting theOperations and Control Center in addition to our software development team.

Job Description:


Linux system administrator:

  • Supporting multiple RedHat servers on VMWare infrastructures
  • SELinux, EPEL, PostgreSQL, 3rd party software, custom software & environments
  • System install, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery
  • Test, monitor, deploy, troubleshoot distributed, custom applications & 3rd party software
  • Tracking and applying application updates


  • Log monitoring and reporting
  • Server stability & performance bottlenecks
  • Disaster planning & recovery

Develop and improve:

- System automation

  • Python, BASH, containers, etc.
  • Security safeguards, updates, testing

- Continuous integration and testing

  • Functional/acceptance testing
  • API regression testing

- Monitoring:

  • System resources
  • Applications
  • Custom software


• Minimum of 4 years of industry experience (preferably in a software development context)
• Python (Django, Pandas)
• JVM - Java/Scala
• Regulations-compliant computer security support
• Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies
• Experience with streaming time series data
• Excellent communications skills
• Ability to perform scheduled maintenance and respond to system outages during off-hours
• Ability to multi-task between multiple complex projects and operational requests
• Excellent understanding of IT systems, networking, and security
• Proven leadership skills and ability to work independently
• Ability to collaborate and take note of alternate viewpoints
• Ability to identify problems and identify working solutions
• Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
• Exceptional customer service orientation
