As a Software Development Manager, you will guide a large, complex claims adjudication system for a Medicaid contract. Ensure delivery of high quality custom software as part of our ecosystem of connected COTS. Our team consist of a mix of front end and back-end developers working on one or more releases, functional areas of our custom solution and related COTS products.

 

Our team continues to be efficient with increased demand for new features, defect fixes and application innovations in our core Medicaid solution. In this role, you will take ownership of the core solution and associated COTS products. You will direct the technical vision for your team and support your team in making that vision a

reality. 

 

Job Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Manage development tasks and projects (change requests) executed by the team to resolve client issues, and escalate issues to appropriate project management and other support teams when necessary.

  • Set and monitor expectations and metrics on software quality

  • Work with customer stakeholders and prioritize requests for engineering support for the team

  • Build and enhance capabilities of the core solution and propose innovative ideas and increase team efficiency.

  • Conduct annual talent review and performance appraisals leading to promotions and incentives based on performance reviews.

  • Supervise and mentor team leads and provide timely feedback on their performance. (5%)

                     

Resource management

  • Provide accurate forecast of technical resources demand based on workload and activities in meeting project schedule and quality requirements.             

  • Ensure that the approved plans and processes are adhered to and all organization goals and objectives at met.

 

Identify operational efficiencies

  • Ensure compliance with internal development and SDLC delivery processes including SONAR, FORTIFY, CMMI, etc

  • Provide constant input to PM on ongoing and future risks associated with technical implementation, complexity, quality and timeline.           

  • Identify areas for improvement within the program and develop plans team to increase efficiency.

  • Analyze client feedback on projects and immediately address any significant issues.

  • Revise and provide final development estimates and approval for program proposals/bids/change requests.

  • Provide technical input and level of effort for statements of work and change requests

  • Responsible for managing/tracking team overall utilization / projection.

 

MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science.

  • 5-7 years of experience managing development teams and development.

  • 10+ years of successful project and program management execution in a technical environment and good understanding of SDLC.

  • Demonstrated client management skills in an offshore model

  • Preferable experience working with Healthcare Projects
