The Durability Test Engineer is responsible for body and hardware vehicle system and component testing. The Engineer will work with customers to support and develop DVP&R plans, submit work orders into our internal project management database (SPMS), schedule testing and determine test requirements, direct Salaried Bargaining Unit (SBU) mechanics/technicians, and perform and manage testing and data acquisition projects. Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, daily monitoring of tests, documenting test data and issues (including both measurements and photographs), publishing final reports and proposing design changes identified during testing. The Engineer will also determine disposition of all parts at conclusion of test. He/she will also be responsible for leading activities for safety, creating revenue-generating opportunities, representing the Stress Lab in garage services meetings involving all scientific labs, coordinating and harmonizing body test specifications in the beSTandard database and supporting all DFSS Body and Six Sigma projects.
