Description: Enlighten IT Consulting (EITC), a MacAulay-Brown company is looking for an experienced Developer Trainer/ Engineer that can work across the following technologies: Java (Scala, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spring), DevOps (Git, Python, Bash, Puppet, RHEL7). Need an engineer that can maximize engineering effectiveness by simplifying the process of developing, deploying, operating and supporting software. Understand how developers approach problems, how they learn most effectively, how successful trial & error builds confidence and common body of practice. Recognize when a framework, library or product provides a great development experience. Help improve our engineer onboarding process, SDKs, Quickstarts, Docs, and provide direct assistance to developers in our support channels. Will be the internal and external steward of the software development and DevOps engineering experience of a powerful open-source data analytics platform.

Will be working in a cross-functional team alongside the software engineering, platform automation, customer success, and documentation teams to provide the best developer experience possible. The most important qualifications for this position are software engineering expertise, empathy, and self-direction.


  • Writing, curating, editing developer resources: tutorials, examples, guides, and documentation.
  • Owning the code samples and engineering implementation guidance.
  • Engaging directly with the community.
  • Gathering and channeling user feedback within the company to improve the experience for developers.
  • Directly shaping and enhancing our open source SDKs.
  • Sharing your technical expertise at conferences and other tech events.

Requirements: Security Clearance:

  • A current government clearance is desired but not required to start.Will be processed for a clearance and therefore all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

Required Skills:

  • A deep understanding of writing, running, maintaining and debugging applications in one or more of the following technologies: Java (Scala, Spark, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Spring), DevOps (Git, Python, Bash, Puppet, RHEL7).
  • The ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing as a presenter, documenter.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: presenting, documenting, troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrable experience authoring developer documentation (tutorials, blog posts, docs).
  • The ability to be effective working independently or contributing in a team environment.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge in the big data, cyber security and/or distributed computing space.
  • Experience working in distributed teams and work environments.
  • Created open-source material or have contributed to open-source projects.
  • Your own technical blog.
