The Desktop Systems Engineer will have extensive knowledge and experience in engineering, implementing, integration, technical services, support, and delivery of technology to the organization. Monitor, review and trend systems to proactively identify and resolve issues. Design, implement, and maintain centralized desktop management systems. Develop hardware, software, and policy standards to provide a world class user experience. Create and deploy standard and customized software. Develop, review, and manage group policies. Will participate in, and perform root cause analysis on system outages and implements corrective measures. Works withothers to establish and improve processes and procedures. Participate in projects and technical recovery exercises.


  • Extensive knowledge of management tools for centralized desktop management, System Center, Active Directory, GPOs, and MDM solutions
  • Develop, review, and manage group policies and configurations
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of IT industry best practices, technologies, architectures and emerging technologies
  • Assist in developing mobility strategies and management including BYOD
  • Extensive trouble shooting and problem solving skills of complex technical issues
  • Experienced with technical migrations
  • Develop, create, and deliver application packages utilizing deployment technologies
  • Engaging vendors in issue escalation and resolution when appropriate
  • Technical expertise in developing solutions utilizing
  • Provide technical consultation and recommendations to assist management planning for Operating System upgrades and release planning
  • Responsible for Desktop Patch Management
  • Develop hardware device standards, firmware deployment
  • Windows and Mac OS Desktop image creation and OS hardening 
  • Management of end point protection solution providing end user device security (PCI and PII)
  • Participate as a lead technical expert on projects
  • Enjoy collaborating with team members and consulting the business stakeholders on optimal solutions
  • Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to team members
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned

Required Qualifications:  

  • Knowledge typically acquired through a BA/BS in computer science/information systems or other technical degree is required
  • 4 to 6years of experience in the field is required
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer(MCSE) and SCCM certifications preferred
  • Ability to provide world class user experience utilizing creative thinking and technical expertise is required
  • Proven ability to provide efficiencies, utilizing creative solutions to provide world class user experience is required
  • Experience leading and or mentoring team members is required

  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to organize work and execute support documentation

  • Must have ITIL knowledge and experience
  • System Center experience
  • SCOM required
