Kforce's client is a prestigious and a well-known organization in New York, NY that is seeking a Director of Data Systems Desktop Support Manager/Director. The Director of Data Systems or Desktop Support Manager/Director reports to the Executive Director of Information Technology to assist in setting direction for technology implementation in the company, manage software and hardware implementations, and the help desk functions. This firm offers fantastic benefits along with a Pension plan. Key requirements: This is a hands-on support role (70% hands-on). Incumbent must be comfortable with resolving desktop support related issues with some Windows Window Server/AD knowledge. Additionally, you will manage a small team of a desktop support technician. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a mid to large size environment with a ticking system in place. Desktop Support Manager/Director

Position Responsibilities:

  • Working in conjunction with the Executive Director of Information Technology, provide hands on support for design, implementation, and training for projects as assigned
  • Working in conjunction with the Executive Director of Information Technology, evaluate and purchase hardware and software
  • Develop and implement plans and schedules for all assigned systems
  • Manage the support help desk technicians and ensure efficient and effective resolution of issues
  • Conduct periodic and annual performance appraisals of staff in a timely fashion
  • Ensure quality IT customer service is maintained throughout the client
  • Holds overall responsibility for standard pc images for the client
  • Provide hands on support for web sites and requests for enhancements and system development
  • Manage procurement and implementation of hand held devices
  • Functions as Deputy Director especially in the absence of the Executive Director of Information Technology
  • Need to be hands on

Requirements

  • Bachelordegree in Computer Science preferred
  • 10+ years of IT Support generalist experience in a corporate/large not-for-profit environment is preferred; non-for-profit is a nice to have
  • 5+ years of IT management experience including direct client contact required
  • Must be comfortable with providing day-to-day desktop support related issues
  • Proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects in timely and organized fashion
  • Proven record of successfully managing help desk technicians and providing Level 3 support for technical issues
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Office, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of networking hardware and software including routers, switches, and firewalls
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build professional
