Position Overview – Seattle Office

As the Design Engineer you have excellent technical, written, and verbal communication skills. You have 5+ years experience in product development to act as a technical advisor to a cross functional team and are a critical link between great design and what's possible in terms of manufacturing.


You'll:

⦁ Provide technical leadership to industrial design and product management teams during initial product concept and design phases of product development process.

⦁ Develop product specifications and validation plans.

⦁ Conduct risk analysis for new product designs and perform competitive benchmarking and validation testing of new product prototypes.

⦁ Assess new technology opportunities for products in development phase.

⦁ Provide management of vendors in engineering and technical areas.

⦁ Research and ensure patent protection on new product designs and other areas of intellectual property development.

⦁ Travel internationally and domestically ~ 15%

⦁ Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical).

⦁ 5+ years experience in product design and manufacturing.

⦁ 3+ years of experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred).

⦁ Working knowledge of injection molding, metal fabrications, paints and finishes, compression molding, materials, heat transfer, basic thermodynamics and other relevant engineering disciplines

⦁ Working knowledge of 'Design for Manufacture' methods

⦁ Experience with Asian factories preferred
