** You will report to the project/be onsite daily for the duration of the project (slated for completion in 3 years).** Key Responsibilities and Duties:     

  • Responsible for assisting with the Quality Assurance (QA) including acceptance inspection and testing for the Projectworking in conjunction with our onsite Quality Assurance Manager.  This includes:
    • Assisting with developing the Quality Assurance Plan for acceptance,
  • Ensuring that the Work is inspected and tested to verify compliance with the released-for-construction plans, approved shop drawings, working drawings, and specifications.,
  • Being a key component in the oversight and coordination the of the offsite testing by the independent lab.
  • Coordinate Contractor Quality Assurance inspections and testing with Governmental Entities and Utility Owners.
  • Maintain quality records of all inspections and tests performed per the approved CQMP. These records shall include factual evidence that the required inspections or tests have been performed, including type and number of inspections or tests involved; results of inspections or tests; nature of defects, deviations, causes for rejection, etc.; proposed remedial action; and corrective actions taken. These records shall cover both conforming and defective or deficient features and shall include a statement that all supplies and materials incorporated in the Work are in full compliance with the terms of the contract documents. These records shall be furnished to CO in format and content as specified in the CQMP.
  • Oversee, schedule and monitor the quality assurance inspection staff that will be performing inspection of all Work performed and materials incorporated into the Project by any member of Contractor's group.
  • Continuously track and record the quantity and quality of material incorporated into the Project for weekly reports to EFL.
  • Maintain log of all current test results and pay factor calculations based on those tests for items for weekly submission to the CO.
  • Maintain the materials register for all materials used on the project including evidence of its suitability for use.
  • Maintain and update weekly the Resolution Register.
  • Assist with reviewing status reports prepared by project personnel and modifying schedules or plans as required.
  • Daily reporting for time/attendance and work production.
  • Confer with our Quality Manager, the owner(s), and Design Engineers, inspectors and suppliers to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
  • Review project performance on a continuing basis and recommend to the CQAM corrective actions as needed.

 Technical Requirements:

  • BSCE required
    • EIT or PE is preferred
      • Needs to have an interest in both Design and Construction with a focus on construction activities.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Design/Build Heavy Highway/Bridge construction Quality Control, including inspection and testing.
  • Experience in a production, manufacturing, or construction environment performing QA/QC auditing is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to include strong verbal and written communication.
  • Possess knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn, various FHJWA contracts, specifications, and reports.
  • Must be able to think independently and solve problems effectively.
