The Deputy Program Manager will work with individual project managers to establish plans and goals for each project. The Deputy Program Manager will also be responsible for setting objectives, assigning tasks, allocating budgets, and agreeing to timetables for achieving intermediate and overall goals in the Program Manager's absence. The Deputy Program Manager must review dates and project schedules to ensure that projects remain on target. The Deputy Program Manager will work with the Program Manager to establish a formal reporting structure to obtain information needed to coordinate and monitor progress across all projects. The selected candidate will review contracts for supplies and services necessary for delivery of equipment, software, operation, installation, and completion of assigned projects. The Deputy Program Manager also supports the Program Manager to coordinate changes, problems, and issues with the sponsoring government agency/office that would affect the project schedule or any of the deliverables. The Deputy Program Manager must ensure that all assigned personnel meet certification requirements and ensure that individual project work is geared toward the strategic goals of the program.
The Deputy Program Manager works alongside the Program Manager to oversee the work of assigned Project Managers and ensures compliance with contractual requirements. Supervised projects will include communications network design, installation, and support for the DLA. Project work will consist of site surveys, network engineering design and planning, networkinfrastructure installation, testing, post installation support, and support for emerging technologies. Contractual responsibilities will involve work in multiple locations, vendor management, protection of classified material, material storage and shipment, network design and planning, complete surveys of DLA network sites, physical installation, lab environment testing, and continual support to the customer through implementation and final transfer. The Deputy Program Manager must ensure that project deliverables are completed and submitted by subordinate Project Managers and ensure consistent stakeholder communication and management.
- 3 years of experience as a Program Manager and 5 years of experience as a Project Manager.
- The selected candidate must demonstrate:
- Experience managing multiple Project Managers on government contracts.
- Experience providing reporting on programmatic activities to designated government personnel.
- Experience providing briefings to multiple audiences.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office line of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
Certification Preference: PMP
