The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Deputy, Program Execution Group (PEG) Chief Acquisition Program Manager (NH-1101-04) to work at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center in Arlington, VA, Eglin AFB, FL. Recruitment, Retention, and Relocation incentives may be available.
Salary: $143,913 to - $190,850 per year. This salary reflects Rest of U.S Locality and may change based on location

Qualifications/Requirements:
The Deputy, Program Execution Group (PEG) Chief serves as the principal integrator and execution lead for Mission System Program Execution activities across the F-35 Joint Program Office. This role supports the PEG Chief in directing, synchronizing, and overseeing program execution, governance, risk, analytics, and enterprise-level alignment functions.
Major Duties:
Lead daily AVMS program execution and organizational management, ensuring seamless cross-functional alignment between the PEG Chief, PMOs, and Capability Leads.
Oversee program governance activities, coordinate high-level reviews, and manage the timely preparation of programmatic documentation and leadership updates.
Drive strategic alignment across reporting and execution processes while coordinating key governance forums and Senior Materiel Leader (SML) events.
Direct the development and synchronization of Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) processes, tracking mitigation actions across Integrated Product Teams.
Serve as the primary focal point for financial tracking (EVM, budget, spend plans) and provide subject matter expertise in contract strategy, planning, and oversight.
Oversee analytics dashboards and ensure the Master Program Schedule (MPS) is accurately aligned with acquisition processes to drive data-informed decisions.
Champion workforce shaping, talent development, and organizational training while providing mentorship and guidance across the AVMS enterprise.
Required Qualifications:
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
BS or BA degree in Business, Management or relevant technical discipline to include Engineering and Engineering Management
APDP PM Advanced Certification (APDP PM Level III equivalent)
8 years APDP coded experience (minimum)
4 years in a Program office or equivalent organization within the DoD environment, preferrable a major weapons system
Demonstrated capability to successfully operate as part of an IPT in a major weapons development program.
Desired Qualifications:
MS degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or relevant technical discipline
At least 2 years avionics engineering in a USAF or USN program office; or another relevant PM role.
Avionics integration, mechanical/electrical engineering, software systems engineering; Logistics and sustainment for major weapons program; or Affordability, acquisition strategy.
Leadership experience at and IPT lead or Team Lead
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: The F-35 Joint Program Office is an ACAT I program and requires candidates to already be seasoned acquisition program managers before applying. You must meet the minimum of 8 years ADPD coded experience and have at least 2 years experience in a DoD acquisition program office.
Additional Remarks:
SECURITY CLEARANCE: The employee must obtain and maintain the appropriate Secret security clearance (Top Secret eligible) and be Special Access Programs eligible.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station.
Anticipated Start Date: Immediately
If already an NH-04 or equivalent in AcqDemo or similar system, this would be a lateral move, not eligible for salary increase.
