The Deputy General Counsel is an experienced attorney that provides support to the Health System on sophisticated legal matters. This role assists in the training and support of the Associate and Assistant General Counsels and other staff members. The Deputy General Counsel must be capable of handling complex business, regulatory, and litigation matters.
Doctoral Degree: Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and 6 years or more of experience in practicing law, with a focus in healthcare, litigation or exeperience in a health system. Skills required: Able to handle diverse activities in a fast paces environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Understanding of and demonstrated experience with the legal issues affecting the healthcare industry and regulatory environment. Licensure required: Georgia Bar License.
4 years or more of experience in representing or providing legal services to, or within, a complex healthcare organization. Knowledge & understanding of legal issues affecting hospital operations & on-the-ground experience advising hospital business units & leadership. Business-minded, get-things-done approach to lawyering in a matrixed environment ? a demonstrated ability to distill large quantities of information.
