Details: This Dentist position will travel to different Wesley Health Center's Dental clinic,- medical Clinics and various outreach locations. Must work 2 Saturdays per month with Tuesdays off within the same week.

Position Purpose:The Dentist is responsible for providing quality preventive and primary dental care consistent with the Dentist's training and experience in a community health clinic setting to patients of the clinics. This position is responsible for conducting oral screenings at JWCH medical sites and providing coverage at various JWCH dental clinic sites by filling in for dental providers. The position also performs community outreach at various JWCH and non-JWCH sites.
Principal Responsibilities:- Provide oral screenings, preventive services, and education to patients at various JWCH medical clinics, JWCH, and non-JWCH community outreach sites. Assignments may vary based on JWCH-Oral Health Department needs.
- Provide coverage at various JWCH Dental Clinic sites, filling in for dental providers. Examine individuals requesting care, diagnose their dental conditions, prescribe, and carry out (or direct others in carrying out) appropriate dental treatment.
- Refer individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in accordance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines. Assignment locations may vary depending on JWCH-Oral Health Department needs.
- Record patient-dentist transactions in real-time in the patient's dental record, ensuring accuracy and completeness in reflecting the nature of the contact, the patient's condition, and the care or treatment provided.
- Complete patient referrals and other records and paperwork as required by the corporation.
- Educate individuals on the nature of health-related conditions and promote general oral health-related disease prevention.
- Travel as necessary to meet operational needs.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Dental Director or as necessary to achieve organizational goals and program objectives.
- Maintain and update skills and knowledge to appropriate professional levels through continuing education courses and educational materials.
- Ensure personal and professional compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and clinic rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care. Adhere to guidelines related to personal issues, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate full knowledge of infection control and exposure control, as well as sterile techniques for a dental practice.
- Supervise Dental Department compliance with infection control and exposure control, and safety guidelines required by local, state, and federal authorities.
- Implement Dental Department directives and protocols, and clinic policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, providing clear expectations. Collaborate with the lead provider and Clinic Administrator to attain goals for efficiency, satisfaction, and productivity.
Requirements:- Graduation from an accredited Dental School.
- Current California Dental License.
- Current DEA Certificate.
- Current CPR/BLS Certification.
- Ability to travel from site to site as needed.
- Experience in working with clients and staff from diverse socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural background.
- Experience with Next-Gen/EDR or Dentrix is preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) is preferred.

Awardees can also receive up to $30,0000 in exchange for two years of service if they practice in a HPSA of 13 and below (Tier II).
